Fraport Brasil S.A. Aeroporto de Fortaleza, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fraport AG, has secured the concession to operate Jericoacoara Airport (JJD) in Ceará, northeastern Brazil. Awarded under the Brazilian government’s AmpliAR program, the concession integrates the regional airport into Fraport’s existing contract for Fortaleza Airport, which runs until 2047. Contract signing is expected in spring 2026, with Fraport assuming operations in fall 2026, pending final approvals.

The concession covers the operation of the terminal and all landside and airside infrastructure, including retail and parking. Fraport has committed to modernizing Jericoacoara Airport within the first three years of management.
CEO Dr. Stefan Schulte emphasized that expanding the company’s presence in Brazil will support the airport’s development and strengthen tourism in the region. Jericoacoara Airport handled around 212,000 passengers in 2024. Fraport AG has operated airports in Brazil since 2017, notably Fortaleza and Porto Alegre, achieving significant modernization at both.
