Wolfgang Huschert is the man behind the legendary ITB Film Awards, The Golden City Gate. His dedication to this award is amazing. This year, the World Tourism Network will present to Mr. Huschert their Tourism Hero Award, which is part of the Amazing Travel Awards by WTN.

The 25th edition of The Golden City Gate will occur during the sideline of ITB Berlin 2025 in Berlin, March 4-6. The Golden City Gate has been the leading multimedia tourism award for 25 years during the largest travel and tourism show in the World.

Some may have seen Wolfgang Huschert becoming the Center of Entertainment with his Film Awards on his dedicated Stage at ITB Berlin. This year, he is celebrating 25 years of Golden City Gate – and it is getting bigger and better.

Twenty-five years into this business, new rules and categories will apply in 2025 so that multimedia contributions can concentrate more on the global sustainability of the tourism sector.

The focus remains on destinations, tour operators, airlines, hotels, initiatives, and organizations to compete with their film and multimedia contributions in 16 categories.

Some of those winning the awards will showcase an innovative approach to sustainable solutions in tourism.

Images and films in print and multimedia formats are accepted to compete. A high-level jury of experts will evaluate all contributions and present their results and awards on March 5.

The goal for everyone is to win the highest level, the Diamond Award.

Many known partners competed at the Golden City Gate in previous editions.

They included MS Deutschland, Eurowings, Lufthansa, DRV, Cine Tour, CNN, BBC, DW, 8N Flying Media TV, Sonnenklar TV, eTurboNews, SIXT, World Tourism Network, African Tourism Board and more.

Participants from more than 104 countries are expected to compete at the Golden City Gates. This established event has been a highlight at ITB and the 25th edition may top all of them.

The aim for 2025 is to showcase examples of successful projects that can improve people’s live and their economies.
