This campaign aligns with the government’s goal of promoting tourism in second-tier provinces and establishing Thailand as a global tourism hub.

In a move to boost tourism beyond major cities, Thailand’s Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched the “Air-mazing Thailand” campaign.

The four-day initiative, running from April 2nd to 5th, aims to showcase the potential of lesser-known airports and destinations to international airlines.

This campaign aligns with the government’s goal of promoting tourism in second-tier provinces and establishing Thailand as a global tourism hub.

Tourism and Sports Minister Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol expressed hope that airlines will recognize the opportunities presented by these untapped markets and consider establishing new routes to both well-established and emerging destinations throughout the country.

Currently, major airports like Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, and Phuket are experiencing high passenger volumes.

The “Air-mazing Thailand” campaign aims to alleviate congestion in these hubs by attracting international arrivals to other locations, thereby spreading tourism revenue across a wider range of provinces.

The TAT will host two separate trips for airline representatives during the campaign. The first will showcase Chiang Mai and U-Tapao international airports, while the second will focus on Krabi, Surat Thani, and Samui. These destinations possess unique tourism offerings, catering to diverse interests beyond the traditional beach experiences.

With ten international airports in Thailand, the campaign seeks to unlock the potential of the entire nation, promoting a more balanced and sustainable tourism industry.
