Former managing Director Lufthansa City Airlines, Jens Fehlinger, is set to take over as the CEO of Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) on 1 October 2024, following the departure of Dieter Vranckx, who will join the Lufthansa Group Executive Board on 1 July 2024.

Jens Fehlinger, 43, commenced his professional journey at the Lufthansa Group in 2006, assuming various managerial roles. Notably, he oversaw strategy and business development at Lufthansa Airlines, as well as operational performance management for the Lufthansa Group. Throughout the Covid pandemic, he led the Group’s crisis management office and subsequently spearheaded the ReNew restructuring project. In recent times, Jens Fehlinger has served as Co-Managing Director of Lufthansa Cityline, while also taking on the role of Managing Director for the newly established airline, Lufthansa City Airlines.

Jens Fehlinger is presently employed as a pilot for Lufthansa Cityline and possesses a commercial pilot’s license for the Airbus A320. He has obtained a graduate degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in Aviation Systems Engineering and Management from the University of Bremen, Germany, as well as a master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Traffic and Transport from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. Additionally, Fehlinger has completed an Executive MBA program at the IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.

Swiss International Air Lines AG, also known as SWISS, is the national airline of Switzerland and a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group. As a member of the Star Alliance, SWISS offers scheduled flights to various destinations in Europe, North America, South America, Africa, and Asia. The airline’s primary hub is located at Zurich Airport, while Geneva Airport serves as its secondary hub. The company’s headquarters are situated at EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg near Basel, Switzerland, with an additional office at Zurich Airport in Kloten, Switzerland. The registered office of the company is based in Basel.
