As a member of the oneworld alliance, Fiji Airways now offers a comprehensive range of benefits to oneworld Emerald, Sapphire, and Ruby customers.

According to oneworld airline alliance’s announcement, Fiji Airways, the flag carrier of Fiji and the South Pacific, will be joining the group as its 15th full member carrier.

Fiji Airways has been a member of the oneworld alliance for the past five years, initially as a oneworld connect partner. Throughout this period, Fiji Airways has established strong collaborative ties with all other oneworld member airlines, facilitating a smoother transition into becoming a full oneworld member.

The process of Fiji Airways’ transition to full membership will begin promptly and is expected to be finalized within the next year.

According to Andre Viljoen, the Managing Director and CEO of Fiji Airways, full membership in oneworld alliance marks a significant step in the carrier’s commitment to providing better service and connectivity. As a full member airline, Fiji Airways will enhance the travel experience for oneworld alliance frequent flyers, offering greater accessibility to Fiji and the South Pacific, and ensuring seamless connections and memorable journeys for Fiji Airways customers across the alliance network.

Fiji Airways, headquartered at Nadi International Airport, operates flights to 26 destinations across 15 countries and territories worldwide. These destinations include major oneworld hubs such as Sydney, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, and Tokyo. Fiji Link, a subsidiary of Fiji Airways, will soon join oneworld as an affiliate airline. This partnership will expand the alliance’s network by adding domestic flights to Suva, Nadi, Labasa, Taveuni, and Kadavu, as well as regional flights to Pacific Island nations like Tonga, Samoa, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. In 2023, Fiji Airways achieved record-breaking annual profits and revenues. They carried 2.2 million passengers on their flights, providing 2.8 million seats. With remarkable growth, increased capacity, and the addition of new state-of-the-art Airbus A350 aircraft to their fleet, Fiji Airways is poised to continue expanding as a full member of oneworld. They will offer more flights and introduce new routes to meet the growing demand from customers.

As a member of the oneworld alliance, Fiji Airways now offers a comprehensive range of benefits to oneworld Emerald, Sapphire, and Ruby customers. These benefits include the ability to earn and redeem miles, earn status points, enjoy priority check-in and boarding, and access to lounges.

In addition, Fiji Airways’ top tier customers can also enjoy all the priority benefits offered by oneworld, such as access to a vast network of nearly 700 business and First class lounges worldwide. This includes the newly opened oneworld branded lounges at Amsterdam’s Schiphol and Seoul’s Incheon Airports.
