Hong Kong Airlines is expanding its presence in the Kyushu market by introducing Kagoshima as its third destination in the region.

Hong Kong Airlines will resume its regular nonstop flights to Kagoshima starting from March 31, 2024. This expansion of the company’s route network in the Kyushu region of Japan offers passengers more travel choices.

Hong Kong Airlines is expanding its presence in the Kyushu market by introducing Kagoshima as its third destination in the region, following the launch of Fukuoka service in April and the reintroduction of Kumamoto route in December last year. This new route will connect northern and southern Kyushu, offering passengers a convenient network. Operating three times a week on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, the flights are perfectly timed for cherry blossom season. With morning departures and afternoon returns, travelers have a flexible schedule for enjoying cherry blossom viewing.

Hong Kong Airlines’ history has been greatly influenced by the Kagoshima route, which has received a warm welcome from travelers since its initial operations in 2014. Serving as the Company’s first destination in the Kyushu region, Hong Kong Airlines is delighted to reintroduce direct services to Kagoshima after a four-year break. This move aims to reintegrate this popular destination into the airline’s growing network in Japan.

Kagoshima, situated at the southernmost point of Kyushu, boasts a delightful climate and abundant natural beauty throughout the year. Its dynamic volcanic terrain, plentiful hot springs, and numerous World Natural Heritage sites make it an attractive tourist spot in Kyushu. Moreover, Kagoshima is renowned for its diverse range of top-notch food and agricultural offerings, as well as its traditional crafts and maritime pursuits, ensuring a memorable experience for visitors.

Over the past year, Hong Kong Airlines has incrementally introduced and reinstated flights to various cities in Japan. These include scheduled flights to Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Nagoya, Tokyo (Narita), Osaka, Okinawa, Sapporo, as well as seasonal flights to Hakodate and Yonago. The airline remains committed to actively seeking out additional new destinations for travelers.
