This expansion comes as part of RegioJet’s strategic initiative, with the introduction of a second line to Ukraine via Slovakia to Chop.

In a landmark move, the Czech railway operator RegioJet successfully executed its inaugural trip on the Prague-Chop route, marking a significant expansion of its services into Ukraine.

According to the railway operator’s press service, the overnight train departed from Prague with 120 passengers onboard and arrived punctually at the Chop station at 10:35 Kyiv time on Thursday.

This expansion comes as part of RegioJet’s strategic initiative, with the introduction of a second line to Ukraine via Slovakia to Chop, complementing the existing route through the Polish city of Przemysl.

The newly launched route comprises three carriages offering a total of 140 seats, operating as part of the Prague-Kosice train. Ticket prices range from EUR 18.9 to EUR 67.9, inclusive of meals, catering to a diverse range of passengers.

The Prague-Chop night train departs from Prague, Czech Republic, at 21:52, followed by a stop in Kosice, Slovakia, at 06:38 am, before reaching Chop at 10:35. In the reverse journey, the train leaves Chop at 17:35, Kosice at 21:37, and arrives in Prague at 05:46 the following day.

In tandem with this development, JSC Ukrzaliznytsia is set to introduce a dedicated transfer train, numbered 345/346, connecting Chernivtsi, Chop, and Uzhgorod with the new international route Prague-Chop.

The transfer train, departing from Chernivtsi daily at 05:30, will make stops at key stations including Ivano-Frankivsk, Stryi, and Mukachevo, facilitating seamless travel for passengers. The service will culminate in Uzhgorod at 17:20.

In the reverse direction, the train departs from Uzhgorod at 11:05, making stops at Chop, Mukachevo, Stryi, and Ivano-Frankivsk before reaching Chernivtsi at 21:32.

The inclusion of stations such as Batevo, Karpaty, Svaliava, and Volovets further enhances accessibility and connectivity along the route, promising increased convenience for travelers across the region.
