Chicken Roam Freely Now at Wynn Hotels & Casinos Worldwide

Hens

Animal protein is served humanely and safely at Wynn Hotels and Casino Resorts worldwide according to the Lever Foundation. This includes all eggs served for breakfast at Wynn.

Treating animals humanely or implementing alternatives is the goal of the Lever Foundation.

As a global NGO, the foundation has staff operating across Asia, Europe, North America, and Latin America. Lever Foundation works with companies also in the travel and tourism industry to help them upgrade their protein sourcing.

Wynn Resorts and Casinos, mostly in Las Vegas and Macao are an example when the hotel has announced its commitment to sourcing 100% cage-free eggs across its global operations by 2026.

This expanded commitment follows its successful transition to cage-free eggs at its U.S. resorts.

With more than 2,700 rooms and 28 food and beverage outlets across its hotel and casino resorts in Macau, Wynn is a major player in China’s hospitality and gaming industry.

This announcement from Wynn Resorts aligns with the broader trend toward higher animal welfare in the region’s gaming sector, with other brands in China and Southeast Asia such as Sands, Melco, MGM Resorts, SJM Resorts, Okada, Resorts World, among others that pledged to end the use of caged eggs in their supply chains.

Cage-free egg production, in which hens are given the freedom to move in open indoor environments, improves animal welfare and significantly lowers food safety risks compared to caged egg production.

Exhaustive research by the European Food Safety Authority found conventional battery cage egg farms have up to 25 times higher rates of contamination by key salmonella strains, leading the EFSA to issue a recommendation for a complete ban on caged egg production across Europe.

The best way for individual consumers to protect egg-laying hens is to reduce or eliminate egg consumption.
