Maldives won first place for the South Asia region at the first UNWTO Tourism video competition. The Maldives promotional video is the new 2015 video produced to promote the “Maldives…Sunny side of life” to a global audience. The video shows the country’s beauty and culture as well as the destination’s tourism product in a colorful 30 second clip.

UNWTO Tourism Video competition was held on the occasion of the 21st session of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) General Assembly, with invitation extended to the member states to compete. This is the First Tourism Video Competition by UNWTO. This new competition is replacement of the Vettor Giusti Posters Competition. The main objective of introducing this new competition is to recognize the importance of multimedia in marketing and promotion of tourism destinations.

The winners of the UNWTO Tourism Video Competition were announced in Medellin, Columbia, during the General Assembly held from September 12-17, 2015.
