“Suite Escape” Offering Includes VIP Culinary Experience at Modern Cantonese Restaurant Fang Available Exclusively for Hotel Guests.

Z Hotels SF, a collection of boutique, high-design hotels located in the heart of downtown San Francisco, is thrilled to announce an extraordinary opportunity for hotel guests to experience an exclusive dinner with renowned celebrity chef Kathy Fang at her acclaimed modern Cantonese restaurant, Fang.  As part of a limited-time special hotel package called ”Suite Escape,” Chef Fang will collaborate tableside with guests to create a one-of-a-kind menu based on their culinary preferences. To commemorate the experience, guests will be presented with their curated menu, laminated and signed by Chef Fang as a memento from their special evening.

“Chef Kathy Fang is an incredible culinary talent with deep roots in San Francisco spanning back to her family’s famed restaurant, House of Nanking,” said Z Hotels SF Director of Sales & Marketing, Desiree Hemmelgarn. “She has branched out to make a name for herself, not only in our city, but nationally with successful appearances on Food Network competitions, morning show cooking segments, and more. We are proud to partner with Chef Fang to give our guests a taste of San Francisco like no one else can.”

Born and raised in San Francisco, Kathy Fang grew up in the kitchen of her family’s now famed restaurant, House of Nanking, before opening Fang with her father in 2009 as co-owner and chef. She began blending her family’s Cantonese heritage and cooking style with her own inspiration that grew from her perspective as a native San Franciscan, her global travels, and her formal training at the esteemed Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School. At Fang, Kathy offers a modern twist to Cantonese fare and an exceptional dining experience for her guests.

She’s a returning guest on NBC’s TODAY Show and has been a guest judge on Alex vs America in 2022.  In 2020, Fang published “Easy Asian” cookbook and started selling her restaurants’ famous hot sauces in the midst of the global pandemic as a way to bring Asian cooking into the home kitchen.

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to meet fellow foodies visiting my hometown,” says Fang. “San Francisco is near and dear to my heart, and it brings me so much joy to cook for people who love food and this city as much as I do. Chinese food is a key part of this city’s culinary culture, and I am so proud to be a part of that story and share it with others.”
