Starting March 7, 2024, Vietnamese citizens can visit Mongolia for up to 30 days visa free.
This new policy aims to boost tourism and is part of Mongolia’s visa-free program for citizens of 64 countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Japan.
Previously, Vietnamese tourists needed a regular visa (taking 5-7 business days) or an e-visa (processed within 3 days for $25).
Although obtaining a visa wasn’t overly complex, many Vietnamese tourists preferred visa-free destinations.
“We expect a rise in Vietnamese visitors,” said Zolo Zolkhuu, a Mongolian tour guide specializing in Vietnamese tours.
This visa exemption is expected to simplify travel and encourage Vietnamese tourists to explore Mongolia’s unique culture and landscapes.
