Tourism in Croatia is growing above it was before the pandemic. This year has seen an unprecedented surge in the number of Hungarian tourists in Croatia, surpassing the 2019 record by the end of August and breaking it by the close of this week. According to a podcast Világgazdaság, Hungarian visitors have consistently ranked among Croatia’s top ten most significant markets.

Croatian hosts are pleased with the Hungarian demand. Tourism in Croatia is also booming because of the Hungarian visitors. Hungarians consistently rank among the top ten foreign markets. This year, they’ve spent more nights in Croatia than in the record-breaking 2019, according to Mira Horváth, a senior staff member of the Croatian National Tourist Board, as reported in Világgazdaság’s podcast.

By the end of August, it was already a record year, with 3.17 million nights compared to the 3.275 million Hungarian overnight stays in 2019. September began with an exceptional pre-booking surplus, indicating the potential for a record-breaking year.

Furthermore, summer is not yet over in Croatia, especially in the southernmost regions where the weather remains excellent, and the sea is still inviting for swimming even into October.
