Harry Theoharis

UN-Tourism Candidate for Secretary General Harry Theoharis from Greece says:

Happy #IWD2025 to all the women who are the backbone of travel and tourism!

As a Greek, I have seen this firsthand how women shape our world – from my mother to my wife who rules the roost, to my daughters, who inspire me every day. At work, I am surrounded by incredible, brilliant women. My closest aides, my mentors, and my guiding lights at work are all women who push boundaries and redefine what’s possible, every single day.

Yet, while we celebrate their contributions, we must also recognize that gender equality is not just a vision – it is an urgent call to action. We must take swift and decisive steps to build a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable, and

This International Women’s Day, let’s do more than just honour women – let’s stand with them. Let’s commit to real, lasting change. Because when women rise, the world rises with them.
With deep respect

Tourism Day at the State of Hawai’i Capitol Building, aka the square building on Beretania Street, celebrating women in tourism and more:

Making a BIG splash, my new ‘Ohana from the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement / Hawaiians Advancing Hawai’i and its affiliates Kilohana Collection featuring the Na Lei Aloha lūʻau at the Hyatt Regency Waikīkī. You could not have walked past them without smiling and feeling energized. They were wearing fresh yellow plumeria lei that was so reminiscent of tourism in its glory days. Talk about being a sensory experience. I am so grateful for the warm welcome they have given me. I’m home on so many levels. I keep pinching myself. How lucky can one guy get.
