Dubai-based Emirates airline received the first corporate prize from UNIGLOBE Skylink Travel in Tanzania in recognition of the airline’s distinguished passenger and cargo services in Tanzania.

With the airline’s colorful prize, Emirates Holidays won the second prize in honor of the Dubai-based travel company partnership with Tanzanian travel and tourism industry players.

Since its entry into Tanzanian skies more than ten years ago, Emirates has been recognized as a competitive airline from the Middle East.

Emirates started operating to Dar es Salaam way back in 1997 with two flights per week, which were subsequently increased to daily flights in July 2003. From 2006, the airline introduced its state-of-the-art A330–200 aircraft with 200-plus passenger capacity.

KLM Royal Airlines received the third prize, while Kenya Airways scooped the fourth one and Qatar Airways the fifth prize.

Other airlines which were recognized for their distinguished services in Tanzania were Ethiopian Airlines, South African Airways, Swiss Air International, Precision Air, and Fly540, among others.

UNIGLOBE Skylink Travel and Tours had organized such a special event to award travel suppliers who have been working closely in the travel business inside Tanzania and outside.

The company’s chief executive officer Mr. Moustafa Khataw told eTurboNews that the event was also organized to coincide with the official opening of its new spacious office to accommodate its business with more personalized services and in a professional ambience.

Skylink’s new offices was officially opened by managing director of Travelport (Africa) Mr. Mark Meehan. Travelport is the leading Global Distribution Services (GDS).
