Tourism Seychelles has reaffirmed its commitment to the Chinese travel market with the successful completion of its 2025 Tourism Roadshow, held from June 18-25.

The initiative builds on the momentum of previous engagements while responding to new travel trends and opportunities in China.

The roadshow brought together prominent tourism stakeholders from Seychelles and China, including representatives from Anantara Maia Seychelles, Avani+ Barbarons Seychelles, Chengdu China Youth Travel Services, Constance Ephelia, Constance Lemuria, Creole Travel Services, Mason’s Travel, SeyYeah, Sichuan Airlines, Emirates, and Ethiopian Airlines.

Notably, the event featured the participation of Mrs. Anne Lafortune, Ambassador of Seychelles to China, whose presence underscored the strong bilateral ties and the growing people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.

Led by Mr. Jean-Luc Lai-Lam, Director for China at Tourism Seychelles, and Mr. Yu Sen, Senior Marketing Executive, the team facilitated business-to-business engagements across four key cities, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Beijing, and Shanghai, positioning Seychelles as a leading destination for Chinese travellers.

This year’s roadshow was strategically timed ahead of new seasonal direct flights from Chengdu by Sichuan Airlines launching in July 2025, alongside expanded daily routes from Shenzhen and Hangzhou by Emirates. These developments are expected to significantly enhance accessibility and convenience for Chinese tourists planning to visit Seychelles.

Mr. Lai-Lam continued, “With the support of our valued partners in both Seychelles and China, we are optimistic that the enhanced air connectivity will continue to drive momentum and deliver sustained growth in this key market.”

Throughout the roadshow, participants had the opportunity to network, strengthen partnerships, and present their products and experiences to Chinese trade partners, reinforcing Seychelles’ appeal as a destination offering luxury, nature, and authenticity.

“The Chinese market plays an increasingly important role in our global strategy,” said Mrs. Bernadette Willemin, Director-General for Marketing at Tourism Seychelles. “We remain committed to deepening our engagement with China through strengthened collaboration, expanded connectivity, and continued investment in cultural and tourism exchange. Our goal is to ensure Seychelles remains a top choice for discerning Chinese travellers.”
