Marco Francis, the Chairman of the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industries, has been traveling in India as part of the official delegation accompanying Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture.

Mr. Francis has been a strong advocate for Seychelles to work to attract Bollywood back to the Seychelles, “the islands conceived by God,” as the perfect set for shooting of romantic and island hideaway films.

On Sunday, Mr. Marco Francis was introduced to Priyanka Mathur, an up-and-coming TV actress of India who has hinted of her desire to not only visit the Seychelles for her holidays, but to also be featured in films shot on these beautiful islands. Priyanka Mathur was a Miss India Finalist 2011, and also represented India at the World Miss University pageant 2010 which was held in South Korea where she won the Miss Photogenic title. She has played a substantial role in the TV show “ek hasina tho” which is currently airing on star plus.

The Seychelles delegation on their working visit to India is expected to meet some of the Bollywood bosses, and the big question of using the picturesque Seychelles as a set for their films is expected to be on the agenda. In the meantime, Bollywood stars and up-and-coming names like Priyanka Mathur are all echoing the same message of encouragement to the Seychelles authorities to keep enticing Bollywood to the white sandy beaches of Seychelles that are lapped 365 days of the year by clear and clean turquoise blue seas.
