A popular tourist destination just outside of Paris, the Palace of Versailles, was evacuated this morning following a bomb threat.
The bomb threat evacuation happened at around 10:30 AM local time.
Authorities used the Palace’s social media platform to announce the evacuation of visitors from the monument. They had mentioned their intention to reopen after completing necessary security checks.
At 1:30 pm, an update was posted stating that security checks had been completed, and visitors would soon be allowed to re-enter the palace.
The historic Palace of Versailles has faced previous bomb threats, notably experiencing seven evacuations in October alone due to threats that ultimately proved to be false.
