Airbus Issues Statement on Japan Airlines Flight JAL516 Accident

After a Japan Airlines collided on approach at Tokyo Haneda Airport, all 379 passengers were evacuated while the plane is in flames.

A Japan Airlines Airbus 350 jet at Tokyo Haneda airport is seen in flames after a crash landing on Tuesday evening after the aircraft collided with a Japan Coast Guard plane. The plane’s identification number is JA13XJ.

Japan Airlines Flight JL 516 from Shin Chitose, near Sapporo, Hokkaido, possibly collided with a Japanese Coast Guard aircraft at Haneda Airport. It is reported that all 400 passengers onboard this packed domestic JL flight were successfully evacuated and safe.

The airport fire department is on the scene desperately trying to extinguish the flames.

It appears despite the crash and a tremendous fire some flight operations at Haneda airport are continuing.
After every passenger was able to escape a Japan Airlines crew said:

“I don’t think that one’s gonna be taking to the skies again !!”
