Davide Barnes has been promoted to the role of General Manager of Halekulani, starting from March 1, 2024. Barnes initially joined Halekulani as the Hotel Manager in January 2023, where he was responsible for overseeing the daily operations and success of the renowned, internationally recognized property.

Peter Shaindlin, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Halekulani Corporation, announced the promotion of Mr. Barnes to the position of General Manager, noting that Mr. Barnes has displayed exceptional leadership skills, contributing to team growth and ensuring high guest satisfaction. With his determination, enthusiasm, and adherence to values, Mr. Barnes will maintain Halekulani Corporation’s unparalleled standards of excellence and its globally acclaimed reputation for years to come, Mr. Shaindlin added.

Barnes has made significant changes to the hotel organization in the past year, with a strong emphasis on consistently providing excellent service and surpassing guest expectations. In his new role, he will maintain his responsibility for managing all operational and support aspects of Halekulani on a daily basis. Furthermore, Barnes will also be in charge of supervising and supporting the operations and performance of Halepuna Waikiki by Halekulani, the sister hotel, to ensure consistency and adherence to the brand’s standards.

With over two decades of experience in the luxury hospitality industry worldwide, Barnes has held various leadership positions at renowned establishments such as Shangri-La Hotel in Shanghai, China; Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills; Four Seasons Prague, Czech Republic; Four Seasons, Philadelphia; and Chaminade Resort & Spa in Santa Cruz, California. Before joining Halekulani, he served as the Director of Operations at The Lodge at Kukuiʻula for Destination Residences Hawaiʻi/Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in Kauai.
