Qatar Airways announced that as a part of its summer schedule, it will commence operating new flights to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, situated in the center of Central Asia, and renowned for its abundant history and diverse cultures, which are closely intertwined with those of nearby countries such as Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. The service, which will consist of four weekly flights, is set to begin on June 2, 2024.

Qatar’s national carrier has expanded its Central Asian market presence by adding a second city, Tashkent, to its network after Almaty in Kazakhstan. This new service offers passengers convenient access to over 170 global destinations via the Middle East’s top-ranked airport, Hamad International Airport.

Thierry Antinori, the Chief Commercial Officer of Qatar Airways, expressed the carrier’s dedication to expanding its network and reaching new destinations with the launch of the Tashkent route. This route allows passengers from Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas to explore Uzbekistan and the cultural treasures of Central Asia. Qatar Airways now offers the option to fly to Tashkent as a gateway to the region, and they are excited about potential growth opportunities in Central Asia.
