Meridiana airline connects Italy with China

Meridiana airline started its charter operation to Asia from Milan–Malpensa Airport in Italy to Shenzhen, China.

The charter schedule will be weekly up to September 28, 2017, and will become twice per week from October 2 with departures every Monday and Thursday.

The operation provides over 60,000 seats offered with 113 total rotations. The charter departing from October 2 (IG3319) will take off from Milan-Malpensa (IG3318) at 1:00 pm (arriving in Shenzhen at 7:20 am) and from Shenzhen at 8:50 am. The flying time from Italy is just over 12 hours.

The new route will be operated by an Air Italy aircraft, Boeing 767-300, with a dual configuration of 248 seats in economy and 18 in Electa, the business class of Meridiana.

Meridiana launches its links with China in cooperation with Dream Air and Tempus Network, important companies in the Chinese tourism sector.

Both Milan and Shenzhen are the reference centers for tourist attractions and intense trade exchange.

From 2018, Meridiana operation of the new flights from Milano-Malpensa airport will open new opportunities to propose to the Shenzhen Chinese travel market connecting destinations in Italy and other European points.

Meridiana S.p.A., operating as Meridiana (formerly named Alisarda S.p.A and Meridiana fly S.p.A), is a privately-owned Italian airline headquartered in Olbia with its main base at Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport. It operates scheduled and charter flights to domestic, European, and intercontinental destinations from several Italian bases. Some of its operations are carried out by its subsidiary, Air Italy, under the Meridiana brand.
