ST PETERSBURG, Russia – Gazpromneft-Aero, the operator of Gazprom Neft’s aviation fuel business, has increased the monthly refueling volume of Star Alliance Group in Russia by 50% since July 2014, to more than 7,000 tons. This growth has been achieved due to entering into long-term agreements for into-plane refueling of regular flights with Lufthansa, Air China and SAS airlines at Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow.

Currently Gazpromneft-Aero also refuels the aircraft of Star Alliance Group airlines at the Moscow Domodedovo Airport, Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg and Emelyanovo Airport in Krasnoyarsk.

Before the refuelling of Air China, Lufthansa and SAS airlines began, the Gazpromneft-Aero fueling complex at Sheremetyevo international airport was inspected by representatives of the Star Alliance Group. The experts confirmed that the fueling complex had both a high level of operating safety and strong environmental safeguards, providing for refueling of aircraft without limitations.

The General Director of Gazpromneft-Aero, Vladimir Egorov stated: “I am sure that cooperation with the Star Alliance Group Airlines – the largest aviation alliance in the world – will both support the improvement of domestic standards of aviation fuel supplies and strengthen the position of Gazpromneft-Aero on the international market.”

“We are happy to continue the strong business relationship with Gazpromneft-Aero, which has been growing steadily over the recent years” said Torsten Luft, Vice President of Lufthansa.
