A recent study conducted by financial services provider Remitly has revealed that the French visa is the most sought-after globally, based on online searches in 193 countries.

The study analyzed keyword searches from around the world to determine the destinations with the highest demand for visas. France emerged as the frontrunner, with an average yearly combined search volume of 2,431,200.

This finding aligns with the recent reports indicating that France has maintained its position as the world’s most visited tourist destination.

The World Travel & Tourism Council projected France to be named the “most visited tourist destination in the world” for 2023, while the UN’s World Tourism Organisation noted a rebound in France’s tourist numbers to pre-pandemic levels, with 99 percent of the visitor numbers seen in 2019.

Interestingly, Remitly’s study highlighted that France is the sole European country to secure a spot in the top 10 worldwide visa searches.

The United Kingdom, with 416,400 searches, followed as the next highest European nation at 12th place, with Ireland and Greece also making appearances in the top 20.
