Ethiopia’s government sold National Tour Operation and Travel Agency Enterprise to ABC Plc, the country’s largest car-rental company, Capital reported, citing Wondafrashe Assefa, a spokesman for the nation’s privatization authority.

The money-losing tour operator and its 72 vehicles were sold for 21 million birr ($1.7 million), the Addis Ababa-based newspaper said. The government’s Roha Ghion Hotel, in the city of Lalibella, was sold to Ayat Share Co. for 31.6 million birr, it said.

The privatization authority has not yet accepted offers on seven other businesses for sale, including paint, mattress, and food processing factories, the newspaper said.
