Airbus has effectively transported its inaugural Airbus A321neo that was constructed at their recently established A320 Family Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Toulouse.
The A321neo, set to be used by Pegasus Airlines, the prominent low-cost carrier (LCC) in Turkey, marks the initial delivery from Airbus’ most advanced manufacturing facility. Situated in the previous A380 Jean-Luc Lagardère structure, this assembly line showcases Airbus’ dedication to updating operations and satisfying the increasing worldwide need for the A321neo, which presently comprises almost 65% of Airbus’ A320 Family order backlog.
The Airbus A320neo Family includes the A321neo, which is the biggest variant and boasts impressive range and performance. With advanced engines and Sharklets, the A321neo achieves a remarkable 50% reduction in noise, over 20% decrease in fuel consumption and COâ‚‚ emissions compared to older single-aisle planes. Additionally, it offers passengers exceptional comfort in the widest single-aisle cabin available. Over 100 customers globally have placed orders for more than 5,600 A321neos.
Pegasus Airlines presently operates a total of 93 Airbus aircraft, consisting of 6 A320ceo, 46 A320neo, and 41 A321neo models. Additionally, the airline has placed an order for 68 A321neos.
The aircraft delivery to Pegasus Airlines signifies the initiation of the new Toulouse FAL ramp-up. This, along with the A320 Family FALs in Hamburg (Germany), Mobile (USA), and Tianjin (China), will aid Airbus in achieving its goal of manufacturing 75 A320 Family aircraft per month by 2026.
