INDIA (eTN) – A record number of 910 pilgrims are undertaking the sacred Kailash Mansarovar trip this year in Tibet. This is a sacred event, and it is also open to tourists with the right intention in mind to participate.

The intent of the Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage is to visit it for peace, both within each person and then the world. Tibetans leave an article of clothing or a drop of blood, hair, or a stone to symbolize leaving their prejudices behind them, and then they leave their ego, anxiety, and meanness behind.

The great spiritual experience of these Lord Shiva devotees takes 24 days to climb across the majestic Himalayas. The pilgrimage is organized by the Kumaon Vikas Mandal, in collaboration with various other bodies, including the Ministry of External Affairs.

Over 30,000 pilgrims have taken this trip since the journey was started several years ago.
