airberlin will kick off the important summer season in May 2016, adding four new long-haul destinations. Its hub in Dusseldorf will expand current connections from Dusseldorf to New York (JFK) and Los Angeles.
USA: Three new destinations and more frequent flights from summer 2016
The first airberlin flights from Dusseldorf to Dallas Fort Worth and Boston depart 6 and 7 May with an A330-200. From 6 May, the flight plan will again include the Dusseldorf – San Francisco route with three weekly flights initially, then five services a week starting June. Thereby, airberlin has once again included two Californian destinations to its network: Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Services from Dusseldorf to Los Angeles and New York (JFK) will also feature one additional flight per week in order to provide business travellers in particular a more uniform flight programme. The service between Dusseldorf and New York will then encompass two flights per day and there will be a daily service to Los Angeles.
The daily airberlin service between Dusseldorf and Miami and the three weekly services between Dusseldorf and Fort Myers remain unchanged compared to the previous summer season. The daily services from New York (JFK) and Chicago to Berlin Tegel will stay the same.
Overall, airberlin will introduce 15 additional weekly flights to and from the USA from next summer, taking the total of flights departing Dusseldorf and Berlin for eight destinations in the United States each week to 58.
Cuba: New flights to Havana from summer 2016
airberlin is increasing its number of flights to Cuba, and from 28 May 2016 will operate a new service from Dusseldorf to Havana, which is still subject to governmental approval. airberlin will take off for the Cuban capital twice a week. Moreover, from summer 2016 airberlin will raise the frequency of its flights departing Dusseldorf for Varadero from two to three services per week. The flight dates are matched perfectly to allow travellers to include both destinations in their itineraries and enjoy Cuba’s diversity.
