Travelport and World Travel Inc, one of the largest independently-owned travel management companies in the United States, today announced they have signed a new long-term agreement, extending the relationship between the two travel industry partners that began when World Travel Inc was founded in 1983.

The agreement allows World Travel Inc, headquartered in Exton, Pennsylvania, to continue its adoption and use of Travelport Smartpoint, Travelport’s advanced search and booking platform that allows travel agents to customize the way they work to display the content needed to meet the unique needs of their customers. World Travel Inc. cited time-savings and the ability to sell fares and promote ancillaries to their mid-market company customers among the key benefits of using Travelport Smartpoint.

“We are pleased to extend our long-term partnership with Travelport. Like WTI, customer service is at the center of Travelport’s strategy and operations, and this close alignment helps us deliver the best technology and content solutions to make travel simple for our valued clients. We believe their leading-edge investments, such as Travelport’s Level 3 NDC certification, will allow us to evolve and grow our customer offerings in the future,” said Jim Wells, Chairman and Founder of World Travel Inc.

“We are thrilled to continue working with World Travel Inc. to provide their customers with access to the travel industry’s best fares, content and technology. Our relationship with World Travel Inc. is a strong testimonial about the overall value and performance Travelport offers to meet the current and future needs of our customers,” said Erika Moore, Vice President and General Manager for Travelport.
