A Jet2 flight from Tenerife to Manchester took a harrowing turn when a passenger was discovered deceased inside the plane’s restroom, compelling an emergency diversion to Cork, Ireland.

The distressing event unfolded after fellow travelers observed an extended lock on the restroom door and alerted the crew.

The incident led to widespread emotional distress among passengers, with one individual accusing the crew of being dismissive when notified about the situation. This passenger recounted their husband’s attempt to inform the crew about the situation, only to allegedly face a lack of appropriate response.

The repercussions were felt in the delay of the flight’s arrival in Manchester. Originally scheduled to land at 8:30 pm, the diversion to Cork and subsequent arrangements resulted in a delayed arrival of approximately five hours, with passengers finally touching down in Manchester around 1:30 am.

In response to the tragic event, a spokesperson for Jet2 expressed regret, stating that flight LS918 was diverted due to a passenger requiring medical attention, ultimately leading to the unfortunate passing despite the intervention of the crew. The airline commended the crew for their efforts in a challenging circumstance and extended condolences to the family and friends of the deceased passenger.
