From February 6 – 9, 2024, Rome will host the second edition of Italy for Weddings, an event dedicated to the best of Italian weddings.

A format, created by Convention Bureau Italia with the co-management of ENIT (Agenzia nazionale del turismo – the Italian Government Tourist Board), is dedicated to wedding professionals and specifically destination weddings – the most important B2B event at the national level for the country.

The project, conceived with Laura D’Ambrosio, Division Manager and Wedding PR representative, aims to bring together supply and demand and will see the participation of 50 international buyers and over 35 Italian sellers.

In 2022, the recovery of wedding tourism in Italy was recorded in all regions with flattering numbers: 619,000 arrivals and over 2 million connected presences. A flow that – according to data from the Destination Weddings in Italy Observatory – produced a turnover of 599 million euros, +11% compared to 2019.

The United States of America was the main country of origin (29.2%) of the foreign couples who decided to celebrate their wedding in Italy, but over 57% of the events were generated by married couples residing in European countries. There is an estimated increase of over 1,000 weddings for 2024 (+9.5%).

Wedding tourism continues to grow in Italy with many bookings for 2023.

Italy for Weddings 2024

The Italy for Weddings 2024 event will be held in Rome for the first time in partnership with the Rome and Lazio Convention Bureau. In addition to the meetings and training conferences, panel discussions on current wedding-related issues are scheduled.

The top management of CVB Rome & Lazio points out that weddings are one of the high-spending segments in which to focus resources and promotional initiatives. Rome is in fact one of the top 3 Italian destinations for weddings of foreigners with significant revenues generated by an average expenditure that exceeds 55,000 euros per event.

Many locations in the Lazio region, from Tuscia to the Riviera di Ulisse, lend themselves to enriching the offer with excellent landscapes, food, and wine.
