Strong Earthquale shakes Northern California

North California EQ

California is known for earthquakes. Overnight at 2.34 am the Northern part of the US State was hit by a very strong 6.3 earthquake in a relatively remote region.

A 6.3-strong earthquake was measured 10 Miles WSW from Ferndale, California at 2.34 am in the morning, followed by a 6.00 aftershock.

Ferndale is a small tourist town in Northern California with less than 1800 residents.

Even though 6.3 is considered very strong for California, no big damages are expected from this late-night earthquake.

Ferndale is the ideal Mayberry type of town. Overall, it’s a great little town. Main Street is full of historic Victorian-era buildings, surrounded by lovely farm countryside, backed up by mountains, and only 5 miles from the beach.

The climate is very mild year-round.
