Canada’s Minister of Transport, Pablo Rodriguez, has made an announcement today confirming that Santa Claus and his team of nine reindeer have successfully completed a rigorous certification and inspection process. As a result, they have been granted permission to fly in Canadian airspace.

Minister Rodriguez was recently contacted by the Prime Minister of Canada, who emphasized the importance of his responsibilities in supervising the smooth functioning of Canada’s supply chains and granting permission for Santa’s travels. This is crucial to ensure the timely delivery of gifts to children all across Canada. Notably, Santa’s team, using an environmentally friendly sleigh, is actively contributing to Canada’s efforts in reaching its net-zero and climate objectives.

Per annual protocol, the minister undertakes a personal evaluation of all the paperwork belonging to Santa Claus, meticulously scrutinizing it twice. In reciprocal fashion, Santa has provided a duplicate of his flight itinerary, his pre-flight inventory (excluding the naughty/nice list), and has duly affirmed that he has obtained sufficient rest in preparation for the forthcoming extensive journey.

Transport Canada inspectors visit the North Pole annually to inspect Santa’s sleigh and ensure its safety systems, such as landing gear, de-icing systems, and navigation equipment, are in proper working order. This year, they also assessed the volume of the sleighbells and verified that Rudolph’s nose is functioning at its brightest level.

Transport Canada extends its warm wishes to all Canadians for a safe and joyful holiday season. Passengers traveling by means other than a sleigh are kindly advised to arrive at airports and train stations well in advance, adhering to the recommended safety measures, and demonstrating kindness towards fellow travelers.
