An Iran Air A300-600 made an emergency landing at Tehran airport shortly following takeoff after its pilots spotted an engine fire alert, FARS news agency reported on Sunday.

The aircraft, which had departed for Amsterdam, had to land under “special conditions” due to excessive weight, an Iran Air spokesman said.

During landing, some of the A300’s tires caught fire and deflated, but emergency services extinguished the blaze.

All passengers and crew members were safely evacuated, the spokesman said, adding that the airline will investigate the incident.
