President Akufo-Addo announced that the government of Ghana is committed to ensuring visa-free entry for all Africans traveling to our country.

President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, announced that West African country intends to implement a policy granting visa-free entry to for all African visitors by the end of 2024.

During the commencement of the 2024 Africa Prosperity Dialogue in Ghana’s Eastern Region, Akufo-Addo made a commitment that aligns with the goals of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). This commitment aims to establish a unified market across the continent, fostering economic growth, generating employment opportunities, and eliminating poverty.

The government of Ghana is fully dedicated to the objective of enabling visa-free access for all African visitors to the country, stated Akufo-Addo, stressing the importance of such measures across the entire continent to facilitate unrestricted mobility of individuals, goods, and services, leveraging trade as a driving force for Africa’s economic progress.

Akufo-Addo proposed a more inclusive approach to the execution of AfCFTA, ensuring equitable benefits across various segments of African society.

The annual Africa Prosperity Dialogue, led by the AfCFTA Secretariat and the African Prosperity Network, a think tank, brings together African leaders to collaborate, establish alliances, and dedicate themselves to accomplishing the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

Ghana, officially the Republic of Ghana, is a country in West Africa. It abuts the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean to the south, sharing borders with Ivory Coast in the west, Burkina Faso in the north, and Togo in the east.

Ghana covers an area of 239,567 km2 (92,497 sq mi), spanning diverse biomes that range from coastal savannas to tropical rainforests.

With over 32 million inhabitants, Ghana is the second-most populous country in West Africa. The capital and largest city is Accra; other cities are Kumasi, Tamale, and Sekondi-Takoradi.
