The French TV Network – TV5Monde – has been reporting on the last edition of the Carnaval International de Victoria, the only equator belt annual carnival, which is also referred to as the Vanilla Islands Carnival.

The 2012 edition of that tropical carnival was again staged last March in the beautiful Seychelles in the middle of the Indian Ocean. The carnival was this year co-hosted by Seychelles and La Reunion and it was seen and reported by the hundred-plus press delegation covering the event as a spectacular success.

The known and respected Cathy Thiam, journalist and TV presenter for “Tendance A,” aTV5Monde program. was personally in Seychelles for the 2012 edition of the Carnaval International de Victoria, and her TV report went on air last weekend under the title “ZOOM – Seychelles and La Reunion organize the 2nd edition of the Carnaval International de Victoria in Mahe.”

Cathy Thiam’s carnival program’s next show, “Tendance A,” brings a new
Afro-Caribbean tour from this weekend on TV5Monde with:

– Afro K fashion event in Tois-Ilets (Martinique)
– 4 days of contemporary dance with Fort de Danse Caraïbes in Fort de France (Martinique)
– The 2nd edition of International Carnaval of Victoria, in Mahe Island (Seychelles)
