A Chinese tourist, Zhang Xiuqiang, was charged with three counts of theft for stealing $23,250 in cash from three passengers during a flight from HCMC to Singapore.

If found guilty, Zhang could face a maximum of three years in jail, a fine, or both for each charge.

As outlined in the indictment, Zhang allegedly stole from three individuals during a Scoot flight (TR305) from Ho Chi Minh City to Singapore on December 16.

Zhang allegedly took cash in Singapore dollars, US dollars, and Vietnamese dong notes from the passengers’ bags, as per a report. He’s been remanded for further investigation and is scheduled to appear in court again on December 22.
