British Airways extends ban on flights to Sierra Leone and Liberia

LONDON, England – British Airways has extended a ban on flights to Liberia and Sierra Leone because of the current situation in these countries with the Ebola Virus.

LONDON, England – British Airways has extended a ban on flights to Liberia and Sierra Leone because of the current situation in these countries with the Ebola Virus.

“British Airways has suspended flights to and from Liberia and Sierra Leone, until December 31, 2014 due to the concerns about the health situation in those two countries,” – said the airline in a statement.

Previously BA had announced the suspension of the flights until September of this year. Passengers effected can receive a refund, change the tickets for a later date or to exchange them for the flights to Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria.

In addition to British Airways, several other international carriers cancelled the flights to the countries, where cases of Ebola have were reported. Among them are the national carrier of Cote d’Ivoire,Ivorian Air, the Emirates airline Emirates, the largest airline in Africa ASKY, South Korean airline Korean Air.
