Amuluru will report directly to David Calhoun, the President and CEO of Boeing, and will be a member of Boeing’s Executive Council.

Uma Amuluru has been appointed as Boeing’s new Chief Human Resources Officer and executive vice president of Human Resources, starting April 1. Amuluru will assume the role from Michael D’Ambrose, who is set to retire in July.

Amuluru will have the responsibility of overseeing talent planning, global talent acquisition, learning and development, compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations, as well as diversity and inclusion initiatives at Boeing in her new position. She will report directly to David Calhoun, the President and CEO of Boeing, and will also be a member of the company’s Executive Council.

Calhoun stated that Uma is an exceptional leader who has excelled in assembling exceptional teams and enhancing intricate establishments. Ensuring the ongoing development of our 170,000 global employees will remain a top focus, as their contributions, perspectives, and innovations enable us to enhance our excellence and gain trust from important stakeholders.

“Her deep knowledge of our company and its people, including through her work as Boeing’s first chief compliance officer, makes Uma ideally suited to lead our efforts to support and develop our global workforce as we focus on Boeing’s path forward,” the President and CEO of Boeing added.

Amuluru is currently the vice president and general counsel for Boeing Defense, Space & Security, a role she has held since early 2023. Prior to this, Amuluru was the first chief compliance officer at Boeing, where she established the Global Compliance organization and was a member of the Executive Council. Before joining Boeing in 2017, Amuluru, a former federal prosecutor, held senior positions in the US government, including counselor to the U.S. Attorney General and Associate White House Counsel to President Barack Obama.

Calhoun expressed gratitude towards Mike D’Ambrose for his unwavering and enthusiastic support for Boeing’s employees. He acknowledged Mike’s leadership and commitment during a crucial and difficult time for the company. Over the span of four years, Mike has nurtured a culture of compassion among associates and prioritized talent development initiatives. Additionally, he has played a vital role in enhancing Boeing’s global presence by revamping the human resources department and attracting exceptional candidates.

D’Ambrose is set to retire in July after assisting with the leadership transition. Having accumulated over forty years of business experience, which involved overseeing international human resources teams at companies like ADM, Citigroup, First Data, and Toys ‘R’ Us, he joined Boeing in July 2020.
