The head of the Paris police reported that it is believed all attackers are now dead. Attackers at the Bataclan theater blew themselves up using suicide belts as the police closed in. Another four people were killed due to the suicide blasts.
At the time of the attack, Eagles of Death Metal, an American band, was performing at the theater. While not officially confirmed, it is believed that one of the band members was killed.
France’s foreign ministry stated that all airports are operating, but systematic checks are being conducted, along with road crossing points, rail, and sea port checks.
America’s Homeland Security Secretary, Jeh Johnson, said the US knows of “no specific or credible threats of an attack on the US homeland of the type that occurred in Paris tonight.”
Former US Vice President Al Gore suspended an event that was to be broadcast in Paris.
