Both airlines will allow their customers to enjoy the benefits of their loyalty programs.

As of March 10, Mexico’s flag carrier and Italy’s flagship airline have come together to unveil new codeshare agreement. This exciting partnership will enhance connectivity and provide customers with greater benefits when traveling between the two countries.

Customers flying with Aeromexico on the Mexico City to Rome route can easily connect to 15 different destinations in Italy through Rome Fiumicino International Airport (FCO). On the other hand, ITA Airways passengers traveling from Mexico City International Airport (MEX) will have access to 28 destinations operated by Aeromexico.

Customers will have the convenience of a single ticket for seamless travel, with the added benefit of checking their baggage from the starting point all the way to various cities including Milan, Genoa, Florence, Naples, Turin, and more. Additionally, this agreement extends the reach to destinations such as Cancun, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puerto Vallarta, and Merida.

Both airlines will allow their customers to enjoy the benefits of their loyalty programs, such as the accrual and soon redemption of points on flights operated by ITA Airways and Aeromexico, in addition to those they already offer as members of SkyTeam for Elite and Elite Plus customers.

Both airlines will enable their customers to avail the advantages of their loyalty programs, including the earning and subsequent utilization of points on flights operated by ITA Airways and Aeromexico, in addition to the benefits already provided by SkyTeam for Elite and Elite Plus members.

Aeromexico will persist in utilizing its principal long-haul aircraft, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, for the direct Mexico City to Rome route. This aircraft is renowned for its comfort, efficiency, modernity, and eco-friendliness. The Dreamliner fleet has successfully prevented almost 160 billion pounds of CO2 emissions since its inception. Additionally, the innovative engine design enables a remarkable 60% reduction in noise during takeoff and landing.

ITA Airways currently operates a fleet of 83 Airbus airplanes. Among these, 40 belong to the latest generation and include aircraft from the A320neo family, A220-300, A220-100, A330-900, and A350-900 models.

ITA Airways now has 36 codeshare agreements, achieved in a little over two years since commencing operations, all thanks to its recent partnership with Aeromexico.
