Thailand is mounting an aggressive campaign in India to promote new products as well as new destinations and events. As part of this, a three-city roadshow is on to excite the agents to promote travel.
Among the events are golf, women’s travel, family holidays, and weddings, reported Runjuan Tongrut, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Director, based in Delhi, at a July 21 show where over 120 agents interacted with some 30 suppliers.
A happiness street festival, elephant polo, and festival of lights are some events that more Indians could come to enjoy in Thailand.
The museum of floral culture, a teddy bear museum in Pattaya, and the flying Hanuman in Phuket are sure to attract children, the TAT Director said, adding that the new Chiang Mai International Convention and Exhibition Centre can handle both big and small events.
For the first time, the roadshow is going to Bhuvaneshwar, and for a second time to Jaipur.
The Odisha capital has shown great interest in Thailand, and the proximity to Kolkata would help flight connections, Tongrut concluded.
