The Rodrigues Tourism Board has chosen an original campaign to promote the Rodrigues destination to the British. English taxis are in the colours of Rodrigues Island have been on the roads of London for a month.
Rodrigues Island is part of Mauritius but holds a semi-autonomous status and they are working hard to push their own key unique selling points to the world and to be known as a destination in their own right.
London branded taxis is known to work as a tool for promotional activities. Seychelles went down this path when it relaunched its own tourism industry in 2009 and this was then followed with a similar approach in Paris and Frankfurt.
