Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines will introduce a new direct flight linking Prague and Antalya, Turkey starting May 19th, 2024.

The service, scheduled for Thursdays and Sundays, aims to cater to travelers seeking sun-soaked beaches and convenient connections.

With tickets already available for purchase, starting at around CZK 2,300 for one-way fares, Pegasus joins the competition alongside Czech airline Smartwings and Turkish low-cost carrier SunExpress.

Currently, Smartwings and SunExpress offer one-way tickets for March 2024 at CZK 4,200 and CZK 3,850, respectively.

The entrance of Pegasus into the market suggests a potential price war among the three airlines, promising even more affordable options for travelers bound for Antalya.

Antalya, boasting a population of over 2.6 million, is Turkey’s largest city on the Mediterranean coast, renowned for its picturesque landscapes and coastal allure. Despite its modest elevation changes, the city experiences high winter rainfall and scorching summers, owing to its bay setting and surrounding mountains.

As a prime international sea resort on the Turkish Riviera, Antalya has soared in popularity, surpassing major global hubs like Paris and New York City to become the fourth most visited city worldwide, welcoming over 16.5 million foreign visitors in 2023.
