Johannesburg train crash: 150 injured so far

At least 150 people were left injured this evening in a train collision near the Booysens train station, South of Johannesburg in South Africa.

At least 150 people were left injured this evening in a train collision near the Booysens train station, South of Johannesburg in South Africa.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, we’re alerted to the scene and, on their arrival, they found a mass casualty incident.

Two trains collided near the station, causing one of them to partially overturn.

Paramedics immediately began setting up a triage area to effectively treat the patients.

Patients were found all over the scene with injuries ranging from minor to serious.

Once the patients had been triaged and treated on scene, they will be transported to various hospitals for urgent medical treatment.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
