The first flight will launch on Saturday, March 16, right after another Lufthansa strike. It will serve as a bridge to normalize tourism between Germany and Israel during a bitter war.

The flight is operated by an Airbus 320 with 170 seats. The initial flight is almost sold out, showing tourism is a business of resilience.

Flights between Duesseldorf and Tel Aviv will be operating on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Ksenia Kobiakov, the director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism for Berlin, sees the flight as a good opportunity to re-open travel to Israel in an uncomplicated and unbureaucratic manner.

There are currently 30 flights from Germany to Iarael operated by El Al, Lufthansa and now Eurowings.

Easyjet is planning to return to Israel in April. Eventually, there will be 73 connections between Germany and Israel.

The message is that Tourism is resilient, but will it serve as encouragement to the Israeli leadership for a desperately needed cease-fire?
