This agreement is expected to significantly impact Thailand’s tourism sector.

In a move aimed at revitalizing their tourism industries, China and Thailand implemented a visa-free agreement on Friday.

This new policy allows citizens of both countries visa-free entry and a maximum stay of 30 days per visit.

The agreement applies to multiple entries within a six-month period, with a total stay not exceeding 90 days.

The news has already sparked increased travel interest, with Thai bookings to China tripling on the travel platforms compared to the previous year.

Popular destinations in China for Thai visitors include Shanghai, Guangzhou, Kunming, and Beijing.

This agreement is expected to significantly impact Thailand’s tourism sector.

China has already reclaimed its position as Thailand’s leading source of foreign tourists, with over 1.1 million arrivals in the first two months of 2024.

Thailand aims to attract 8 million Chinese tourists this year, doubling the number from 2023 when Malaysia took the top spot.
