Following the resolution of apparently pending difficult legal issues over leases and tenants’ rights, the deal between The Uganda Safari Company and the Lake Victoria Sailing Club, owners of the Bulago Island and its resort, is back on again, after looking more “off” for some time, as negotiations dragged on.

Contractors’ staff are now finally due to be deployed on site within the next two weeks and following a complete reconstruction, additions, and refurbishments, the island resort is due to open again by approximately August this year.

The quality of the Bulago Island Lodge will then, according to well-informed sources, match the qualities of the other properties of TUSC, like Apoka Safari Lodge, Semliki Safari Lodge, and the award-winning Clouds, leave alone Kampala’s first and only boutique hotel, Emin Pasha.
