Benchmark has appointed Elise Gertenbach director of group sales for Hotel Contessa, a AAA Four Diamond-rated all-suite hotel set in downtown San Antonio, Texas, on the city’s storied River Walk. Troy Mathews, general manager for this Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property, made the announcement.
“It is a pleasure to congratulate Elise on another well-deserved promotion at Hotel Contessa and within Benchmark,” said Mr. Mathews. “She is an important member of our sales and marketing team and a superb professional, skilled at strategically building relationships with key meeting planners and corporate clients throughout the country.”
This latest advancement for Elise comes nearly 12 years after she initially joined Hotel Contessa team, where she most recently served as national account director for the 265-suite hotel. During her time in the role, she managed Hotel Contessa’s business from the Midwest and east coast markets and earned Benchmark’s highly coveted Platinum Award for sales excellence. Ms. Gertenbach has also held senior sales manager and sales manager positions for the landmark property. She began her career in hospitality sales at the Northland Inn of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
Ms. Gertenbach is a graduate of DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. She resides in San Antonio.
