Afghanistan‘s Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation declared the revival of Air Arabia flights to Kabul’s international airport, marking a significant milestone following a two-year cessation post the collapse of the prior government.

The first Air Arabia flight, confirmed by the ministry, landed on Wednesday, signaling the commencement of daily flights between Sharjah and Kabul.

This resurgence aligns with the Taliban’s efforts to restore air travel connections severed amidst political upheavals. Notably, an agreement inked in May allowed an Emirati entity, GAAC Solutions, to oversee three Afghan airports, including those in Herat, Kabul, and Kandahar. Additionally, Flydubai had previously resumed its flights to Kabul in November.

Kam Air and Ariana Afghan Airlines continue operating routes from Kabul to multiple destinations, encompassing Dubai, Moscow, Islamabad, and Istanbul. This renewed connectivity signifies a potential resurgence in Afghanistan’s aviation sector under the Taliban’s governance.
