TAT London welcomes new Director

LONDON, England – On 1st February 2014 the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) London office welcomed their new Director, Mr Teerasil Tapen.

LONDON, England – On 1st February 2014 the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) London office welcomed their new Director, Mr Teerasil Tapen. In office for the next four years, Mr Tapen is responsible for the UK, Irish and South Africa markets.

He has moved from Bangkok, Thailand where he formerly held the position of Director of Database Group. Mr Tapenhas been working for TAT for 20 years in a variety ofpositions, including international roles, and so comes to London with a wealth of knowledge and experience to further boost Thailand’s profile in the UK & Irish markets.

“I am delighted with my post to London; I have visited on several occasions so I’m looking forward to calling it home. While my post begins during a time of political uncertainty in Bangkok I am pleased to share some very positive news regarding Thailand’s tourism arrival figures. UK arrivals are up 10.69% and Irish arrivals up 18.65% I appreciate it has been a challenging few months so I would like to begin with thanking the travel trade for their continued support promoting and selling Thailand.”

“We have some exciting plans in place for the year ahead, including 7 road shows across the UK & Ireland which I look forward to meeting new friends and colleagues at along side my team Chris Lee, Trade Marketing Manager and Joanna Cooke, Consumer Marketing & PR Manager. As well as the recent launch of our new trade Facebook fan page “˜Sawasdeeв” we have no less than 30 joint marketingcampaigns in place with tour operator partners this yearpromoting key markets such as luxury, honeymoon, family, diving, Muay Thai holidays and youth travel.”
